Emily Sullivan

Mother

Emily Sullivan is an avid performer and teacher throughout the greater Michiana area. Emily completed her Masters at Indiana University South Bend, where she studied with Anne Fuchs. She is currently in the process of completing her Artist Diploma, studying with Emanuel Caraman.Since 2013, Emily has been a member of Musical Arts Indiana's Vesper Chorale, with whom she performed as a soprano soloist for Brahms Requiem and Handel's Messiah, and now serves as the soprano section leader, as well as on the MAI board. She has performed with the South Bend Lyric Opera (chorus member in Cavalleria Rusticana, La Traviata, and Don Giovanni) Opera Notre Dame (Belinda in Dido & Aeneas), IU South Bend Opera at the Raclin (Mother in Amahl & the Night Visitors, Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro) and Bethel University’s Operatic Irregulars (Collette in Le Devin du Village, Pernille in Captain Lovelock).Most recently, Emily was named the winner of this year’s (2023) IU South Bend Philharmonic Concerto Competition. Later in 2023, she will appear in the world premiere of the musical Assembly, written by Carlee Baldwin. Emily will play the role of Shannon, a role that was written for her.Emily is also passionate about passing down her love for music to the next generation. She maintains a private voice studio in the area, spent four years teaching toddler through elementary school music at Cornerstone Christian Montessori School, and now serves on their school board. In addition, Emily has trained in classical ballet and contemporary dance, and has taught students aged 3-18 in dance over the last decade.
